Wooden Bowls
Wooden bowls hand made on a wood lathe. Useful bowls, decorative bowls, etc. Each bowl is unique and one-of-a-kind. Made from many types of hardwood with unique grain patterns and spalting. Spalting is the black lines you see in the wood, that is when the wood begins to age and starts to decay, it causes what they call spalting. It's a good thing for artists, it helps to make our artwork look even more beautiful.
Wood turning wooden bowls on a wood lathe is fun, putting a log of wood on a wood lathe and watching the beauty of the wood come out before your eyes is amazing. You never know what the bowl is going to look like when you start with a log of wood, and just watching a log of wood turn into a beautiful wooden bowl just by using some wood turning tools to shape the bowl is truely amazing.
You use your tools and try to bring out as much of the beautiful grains and colors as possible. And when you have finished shaping your wooden bowl you sand it and sand it some more and then add a food safe finish and sand it some more and add more food safe finish and then buff it to shine.
